the Lord is my light and my salvation. whom shall i fear?

Jesus help me to love you with a jealous love,
the same jealous love that you love me with
a love that won't let anything else take its place
a love that only wants to love you
a love that only knows to love you God
and absolutely nothing else

your eye is the lamp of your body. when your eyes are good, your whole body also is full of light. but when they are bad, your body is full of darkness. see to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness. therefore, if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be completely lighted, as when the light of a lamp shines on you
luke 11:34-36

Lord help me not to set my eyes on things of this world
on things that keep me from loving you
take away all distractions
everything that keeps me from fully loving you
help me not to love anything in this world
like the way i love you

more importantly God
help me not to set my eyes on myself.
on what satan tells me
that i'm the center of the world
that i want to run life my own way
always focused
on my selfish desires
on my own problems
on always having things my way
having my life go my way
cause God, the truth is
it's not even my life anymore
i gave it all to YOU remember?

so i set my eyes on you God
my eyes on the prize
my eyes on
the light of your face
Jesus, shine down upon me
as the sun does
to the flower
as i bask in your light
in your glory

give me your glory God
send your glory

Jesus,
let the light of your face shine down upon me,
and let me
feel it.

so that means
take all my thoughts
all my actions
all my desires
and replace them with
YOURS
and to do your will alone

a living sacrifice
holy and pleasing
for you,

Jesus pour out your new wine over me
bringing joy and freedom
anoint me with oil
shower me with your blessings

Jesus I don't want to run ahead of you

in ministry, and in life
satisfy your desires
and not mine
and may it not be about what i do
not about my works
but why i do it
and who i do it for.

Lord, open my spiritual senses
so that i may

thirsty

Jesus let me thirst for you more
more thirsty than i was
a day ago
a week ago
a month ago
a year ago

let this thirst be a fresh thirst
daily renewed
a thirst that increases
day by day
by day

Jesus, show me what it means to be thirsty
give me this thirst
so that i may run hard after you
as your love captivates my heart
and draws me ever so near
with the powerful force
of your love

Jesus i don't know how to love you more

i don't know what it means,
to be a true worshipper who worships in spirit and in truth
i can no longer come up with any more heartfelt prayers
i don't know how to be more passionate for you,
how to be on fire for you 24/7
how to seek your face
all the days of my life
how do i wait for your presence
without being distracted with my own selfish thoughts?

Jesus, i try so hard
i try so hard to be genuine
i concentrate so hard
how to be more holy
on what to think
what to pray
on the things i can do to LOVE YOU MORE

but Jesus, i realized.
its' not about what i can do
its not about how much i can love you
not about how many more deep prayers i can squeeze out
not about how many more deep blog entries i can crank out
to show you my love
heck, what do i know about love anyways?

no amount of my humanly
broken.
divided.
imperfect.
love could ever measure up
to the
infinite.
boundless.
perfect love you have for me

Jesus, it's by your grace
you show me how to love
and all i have to do
is receive
and enjoy your love

you're telling me to stop trying
stop my obsession
with holiness
with perfection
and let you do the perfecting

Jesus you created me not as a human doing
but as a human being
all i have to do is
being loved

Jesus, i am your
beloved
all i have to do is
be. loved.

relentless

Jesus, your love is relentless

when i least feel like i want to worship
when i least feel like i want to pray
when i least care about waiting for your presence
when i feel unbelief overwhelming me
when i feel so faithless

you wait for me when i fail to wait for you
you draw me near when i fail to draw near to you
you seek me when i fail to seek you

day by day, night by night. you won't relent
you're love does not relent until you have it all
all of me, all that i am, all that i live for

place me as a seal over your heart
like a seal on your arm

mercy and grace

mercy is not getting what you deserve
grace is getting what you don't deserve

so that means mercy is like when you when crash your dad's mercedes, he forgives you.
and grace is when you crash your dad's mercedes, he forgives you and buys you a ferrari.

except eternal life is much better than a ferrari.
